About Us

Statistics is the king of Mathematics and Computer science, the department of Statistics was established in the year 2003.  The subject is offered in combination with computer science and mathematics.  The basic aim of introducing the course was to enable students to take up careers in Governmental Services and Private Companies.  With Statistics being one of the subjects in Civil Service Examination of the UPSC and ASPSC, the department has gained immense popularity among the student community.  The faculty of statistics are well qualified and experienced in undergraduate teaching.

 

Objectives:

To equip students with designing data collection plans, analysing data appropriately and interpret and draw conclusions from those analysis.

 To take the students from the class room environ to the outside to enhance independent thinking and develop problem solving skills

 To Prepare students for life-long learning by conducting theoretical and practical studies in the field which leads to successful careers.

 To organise subject related events in order to encourage young minds to develop and excel in their talents, creative and innovative abilities.
